The video game picks up where the first game left off. For those of you who have played the first Assassin’s Creed, you shall remember all the funny signs Desmond Miles sees at the end of the game. Now, this ending was rather confusing, and to this day I still don’t fully understand what they meant by it. If you never played the first Assassin’s Creed, I shall describe it in a quick nutshell. The game is around the French bartender named Desmond Miles who was kidnapped to be used as a test object. Apparently, Desmond has memory left of its descendants’ DNA. By putting him and this huge machine, it is possible to go back in time and play with Altair, who looked very similar to Desmond. By playing through the game, you learn slowly more and more about the Crusaders, and in the end, you get to battle the end-boss. And that’s about it, unfortunately.
The second game, however, takes it to an amazing level. This time, Desmond goes through the memories of his Italian descendant named Ezio da Firenze. Ezio is a great character who at more than one occasion makes you laugh because of his funny jokes. At the beginning of the game, you get to know that the family members of Ezio are victims of a political plot. Sadly, his father and brother get hanged. This left Ezio with his mother and sister alone. Thankfully, his uncle Mario takes him underneath his wings. It is Mario who explains to Ezio what is happening to him and what happened to his family. It is then that Ezio becomes an Assassin’s and starts to works together with other Assassins. After killing several suspects, Ezio finally gets to know that Rodrigo Borgia is behind the murder of his father and brother. His father knew too much about Rodrigo Borgia and his actions, which included killing innocent peasants and stealing money from innocents. Ezio becomes very furious after finding this out and decides to travel to Rome to end the reign of Rodrigo. Once he is in Rome, he becomes friends with Leonardo Da Vince, who aids Ezio towards finding Rodrigo. Eventually, he finds the hide-out of Rodrigo. The game then lets you go to him and gives you an option to brutally kill Rodrigo or not. I choose for the brutally killing option, which at the time was very entertaining! After killing Rodrigo, Ezio travels back to the city of Mario and explains what happened to his father and brother to his mother and sister. Finally, there is peace again in his home village.
